A preeminent chain that strives to fuse great food with community action is preparing to bring the flavor to a new Garden State location. Mission BBQ, known for its patriotic approach to the titular cuisine, is making progress on a Cherry Hill storefront, according to a post in the South Jersey Food Scene Facebook group.
The restaurant will be planting its roots as a part of the Garden State Park shopping center. Mission BBQ is setting up shop at 2050 Route 70 West in a cluster of four storefronts; the eatery will be joining Tommy’s Tavern + Tap, Wonder, and Hand and Stone, all already open.
It is not yet clear when precisely Mission BBQ will be prepared to greet and feed guests; the storefront currently has paper bags over the windows with a sign announcing the concept’s presence. The restaurant is listed only as “coming soon” on the Garden State Park website.
Mission BBQ opened in 2011 as a response to the September 11th attacks. The website explains: “We believe there is nothing more American than BBQ. And nobody more American than the brave men and women who have sworn to protect and serve Our Communities and Our Country. We do what we do for the love of our soldiers, firefighters, police officers, first responders—all our loved ones in service.”
Cherry Hill diners can look forward to digging into a plethora of high-quality meats alongside a range of scratch-made sides.
