A top New York hospitality group is preparing to say “sorry but not sorry” to the City of Brotherly Love, with an assist from one of the most innovative butter chicken dishes on the market. Unapologetic Foods is opening a new location of Adda, its Indian concept, in Fishtown before the year is out, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The unique concept will be setting up its second home in a new building located at 1700 Frankford Avenue. Unapologetic Foods signed the lease for the space last summer, however the hospitality group had not initially determined the name or nature of the restaurant that would occupy the space. Having landed on its celebrated Indian concept, the restaurant group can move forward with development, and is aiming to open Adda in late 2025.
Adda takes a creative approach to traditional Indian cuisine. Management intends to cultivate a truly, uniquely Philadelphia experience, without sacrificing the character that made Adda such a New York success. A representative explains the new space “brings its own voice to the table while staying true to the heart of the original.”
While Adda offers a range of dishes, the star is the “butter chicken experience” a brilliant re-imagining of a well-established favorite designed to defy customer expectations. Guests need to make reservations for the dining experience, however the wholly unique meal is worth the effort. The website describes what lies in store, saying: “Our Butter Chicken Experience is a full-table, pre-ordered feast built around one of the most popular, yet misunderstood dishes in Indian cuisine. Reimagined with uncompromising ingredients and technique, it’s bold, lush, and made to be shared.“
