A new restaurant project is in motion at 940 E Tidwell Rd, where Kungfu Rice is slated to open its doors following a full interior remodel. According to recent public permit records, the upcoming buildout is being led by Owner David Ou and will convert a 2,800-square-foot leasing space into the latest home for the growing fast-casual concept.
The approved permit outlines a scope of work focused on new construction and a full interior remodel. With an estimated cost of $52,320, the project will rework the interior to accommodate a full-service kitchen and dining setup typical of the brand’s existing locations. While no exterior changes were listed in the paperwork, the planned investment indicates a complete transformation of the interior layout.
Kungfu Rice has gained a following for its customizable rice bowls and Asian-style comfort food, offering fast service without sacrificing quality. Although specific menu details for the Tidwell location haven’t been announced yet, it’s expected to follow the same formula that has worked well in other Texas locations.
Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025 with completion projected for May 2026.
