Beach frequenters know that spending a full day down the shore can build up a powerful appetite. A team of Jersey restaurateurs have joined forces to feed Sea Isle visitors, hungry for a filling meal. Tommy Brower, Chef John Taus, and Chef Jugo Stevcic are opening Coastal Chop House, a premium steak restaurant, in the area later this summer, reports local media outlet WPST.
Guests will be able to stop in and grab a bite at the eatery’s 4001 Landis Avenue home. Coastal Chop House will be quite the new beginning for the building; the space previously housed Bright Spot Cafe, a concept celebrated for its all day breakfast fare.
Brower is enthusiastic about filling a hole in the local dining scene. He explains: ”Since (living down) here for the last five years, and spending a lot of my (past) summers down here, I noticed that there wasn’t a steakhouse anywhere besides Atlantic City and Cape May, but nothing in between. After brainstorming, we thought it was best to renovate the old Bright Spot Cafe at 40th Street and Landis and make that the Coastal Chop House, South Jersey new and Premier Steakhouse.”
Ownership has not announced an opening date for Coastal Chop House, but intend to debut the restaurant later this summer.
