Jeff’s Bagel Run opened its first Charlotte location at Blakeney Town Center in South Charlotte last year. Now, franchise owner Matt Allen is preparing to expand to a second location at 2130-B Ayrsley Town Blvd. Allen is targeting an August opening.
The spot at Blakeney Town Center was Allen’s first franchise location with the brand.
“People come in with a smile because they are happy to be here, they smell the bagels and they leave with a bigger one,” Allen told What Now Charlotte. “They’ve always been grateful, so it’s easy to make the decision to do more [locations].”
The location on Ayrsley Town Boulevard will be 1,500 square feet and will fit more seating than the Blakeney location. They also have a larger coffee machine with double the capacity to prepare for the morning rush that Allen expects to see at that location.
“It’s a really big commuter corridor, and we like being part of that morning commute,” Allen said. “You come in, get your coffee, get some bagels for you or be the office bagel hero for the day and bring a dozen with you.”
Jeff’s Bagel Run was born during the pandemic, when founders Jeff and Danielle Perera found themselves baking New York-style bagels and personally delivering them around their community in Central Florida on what they called “bagel runs.” They opened the first brick-and-mortar location in Florida in 2021, and since then the franchise has expanded to 15 locations across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas, with many more locations in development.
The New York-style bagel spot offers a variety of bagels, from cinnamon sugar to asiago, spreads such as roasted jalapeño and cake batter and a full coffee menu featuring handcrafted espresso drinks.
