Last week, FAT Brands Inc., the parent company of Fatburger (plus 17 other restaurant brands), announced that it has signed a 40-unit development deal with Whole Factor Inc. to open Fatburger stores all over Florida. Whole Factor Inc., which has already opened a Fatburgers in Riverview and in Celebration, has its eyes on Tampa for one of these locations.

“In Tampa, we’re currently looking,” Spike Singh, owner of Whole Factor Inc., told What Now on Tuesday. “Hopefully, we will have something open in the late part of next year.”

News of the deal comes two years after Fatburger made its comeback in the Sunshine State, where it hadn’t had a foothold for twenty years.

“Our Riverview and Celebration locations have exceeded expectations with an incredible fanbase that loves our cooked-to-order burgers, fries, and hand-scooped milkshakes,” FAT Brands Co-CEO and CDO Taylor Wiederhorn said in a press release. “Whole Factor is an excellent partner that understands what makes Fatburger such a unique, beloved brand, and their future growth will cement Fatburger as a key burger player in the state of Florida.”

Singh told What Now that Riverview’s receptiveness to the brand has further increased confidence in Fatburger’s proven menu and service. That menu features a variety of handheld choices. The original burger is best experienced with “The Works” (lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, pickles, and relish), although other add-ons are on offer, including fried egg, chilli, and bacon. Classic Sandwiches include an Impossible Burger, a Turkey Burger, the Chicken Sandwich, and the 1000 Island Burger. The menu also features milkshakes in flavors like Oreo Cookies & Ice Cream, Maui Banana, and Vanilla.

“It’s the quality: this not a frozen burger shop,” Singh told What Now. “We are here to provide an exceptional dining experience. And I think people really appreciate it. Our Riverview store has become one of the busiest stores in the system.”
