Bobby Jo’s Pizza, a fast-rising New Haven-style pizzeria that launched as a pop-up earlier this year, is opening its first brick-and-mortar location at 5225 N. High Street in Columbus. The spot, formerly Donerick’s Pub, is getting a full makeover to reflect the bold, creative vibe behind the brand.
Founded by Hilltop native Danny Phillips, Bobby Jo’s quickly gained a loyal following through word of mouth and social buzz. Now, Phillips is expanding the menu to include 14-inch pies and new sandwich options—most notably, a Philly cheesesteak-inspired pizza called the Tush Push, a nod to his Philadelphia roots and the Eagles’ famous play.
Phillips plans to open the restaurant in late August, just in time for football season. He’s also working on a food truck to serve the West Side regularly, further cementing the brand’s local-first, community-driven identity.
With its mix of inventive flavors and neighborhood spirit, Bobby Jo’s is set to become a new go-to for Columbus pizza lovers.
