The duo behind Midtown Sacramento’s lively Cantina Alley is bringing a brand-new restaurant to Historic Folsom.

Art Aguilar and Max Archuleta are opening a second concept in the former Q’bole Cocina & Cantina space at 718 Sutter St, Suite 201. While Archuleta briefly confirmed the plans with What Now Sacramento, he declined to provide more information and noted that additional details would be shared in about a week.

Aguilar and Archuleta opened Cantina Alley in 2017 at 2320 Jazz Alley, quickly earning fans with their vibrant take on Mexican street food—think elote, carne asada tacos, al pastor tortas, and colorful cocktails served on a bustling patio.

Q’bole closed in early 2025 after a decade in business. According to The Sacramento Bee, owner Diana Calderon withheld rent and continued operating her restaurant for several months before the property owner filed a breach of contract lawsuit. The eatery served Mazatlán, Mexico-inspired fare like arrachera, enchilada mole, and chile relleno.

Stay tuned as more details emerge about Aguilar and Archuleta’s next culinary venture in Folsom.
