Local boba chain Queen Tea is adding another location to its pipeline, joining existing locations in Kennesaw and Marietta. The tea brand has a new location on the way to The Hurt Building at 50 Hurt Plaza SE. It will take over the 3,555-square-foot space formerly home to a Starbucks, according to a recently filed permit.
Interior renovations are still to come on the space, owner Joleen Dai told What Now Atlanta. The permit indicates that renovations will cost $200,000.
Dai said she hopes to open up the location in September, though it will depend on construction progress.
Queen Tea focuses on bringing an authentic Taiwanese bubble tea experience to customers. The menu consists of milk teas featuring a variety of flavors from rose jasmine to honeydew. There are also fruit teas, coffees and Taiwanese street food such as dumplings and spring rolls.
The spot is known for being open late, with hours at the current locations stretching to 11:30 p.m. or midnight.
Queen Tea also has a location heading to The Hadley building. That location is still listed as “coming soon” on the website.
