Osteria Alba, a new Italian restaurant from Toronto chef Adam Pereira, is set to open in Little Italy at 665 College St.

The new venture will take over the former home of Vivoli, which closed in July after operating for more than 20 years, according to BlogTO. The restaurant is expected to open in early October 2025, under the direction of Pereira, who has been operating Cano on St. Clair West. Pereira plans to bring a modern Italian dining experience to the Little Italy location, with Osteria Alba featuring a rooftop patio offering cocktails, outdoor seating, and a menu that combines traditional Italian cuisine with a contemporary approach. The interior design will combine updated finishes with classic Italian elements.

Pereira has made a name for himself since 2017, when he opened Cano, a restaurant specializing in refined Italian cuisine that has earned a reputation for high-quality ingredients, creative plating, and elevated service. Under Pereira’s leadership, the restaurant has become a respected fixture in the city’s dining scene. With years of experience in Italian fine dining and a focus on delivering both substance and style, Pereira brings a proven track record to his latest venture, Osteria Alba.

This will be an excellent location for the new concept, situated in the heart of Little Italy, a neighborhood with a rich cultural heritage deeply rooted in Italian cuisine. The corner-lot space offers both high visibility and ample room for indoor and outdoor dining, including a rooftop patio. With Vivoli’s closure marking the loss of one of the area’s last legacy Italian restaurants, the timing is ideal for a new concept to step in. The area’s substantial foot traffic, established dining culture, and demand for updated Italian fare make it a strategic and fitting home for Pereira’s new venture.
