Daigyo Cafe, known for its ceremonial grade matcha and beautifully crafted sweets, is preparing to open soon at 125 King Street East, at the corner of King and Catharine in Downtown Hamilton.

With popular locations already in Toronto, Scarborough, and Vancouver, this will mark Daigyo’s first storefront in Hamilton, according to the company’s social media. The cafe is expected to offer the same meticulously crafted menu that has won fans across Canada, including matcha soft serve, matcha floats, strawberry and vanilla tarts, and a full lineup of tea-based drinks. All matcha used by Daigyo is imported from Shizuoka, Japan, a region celebrated for its rich volcanic soil and superior tea growing conditions.

Previously operating in larger urban centers, Daigyo Cafe has built its reputation around authenticity and precision. Visitors can expect a cozy and minimalistic atmosphere designed for calm conversation over hot tea or chilled matcha treats. The menu also features specialty lattes, parfaits, affogatos, and house specials like the Yuzu O Matcha and The Spring of Fuji, a ceremonial grade matcha recommended for beginners. This Hamilton expansion is poised to bring something truly unique to the local cafe scene, offering a relaxing spot for tea lovers and dessert seekers alike.

This will be an excellent location for Daigyo Cafe’s Hamilton debut, thanks to its placement at the bustling corner of King and Catharine in the heart of downtown. Surrounded by offices, shops, and pedestrian traffic, the area experiences steady foot traffic from both locals and visitors. Its proximity to public transit and nearby attractions makes it a convenient stop for anyone looking to enjoy a premium dessert or matcha latte. With limited competition in the specialized Japanese dessert space, Daigyo is well-positioned to stand out and thrive in the city’s growing cafe scene.
