Big Softie has a new location in the works. The brand announced in a recent Instagram post that its third location is heading to 405 North Angier Ave. NE in Old Fourth Ward. The Big Softie website suggests that this location will have a walk-up window.
“Big news — we are that much closer to opening our third Big Softie location!” the announcement states. “Located in Old Fourth Ward, we’ll be right on the Beltline making your afternoon walks that much sweeter. Stay tuned for an exact opening date in the next couple weeks — we can’t wait to swirl some cones for you!”
Big Softie is a sister business to popular Atlanta bakeshop Little Tart. Founder Sarah O’Brien opened the first Big Softie location in 2019 in Summerhill next door to her Little Tart location. There, the soft-serve brand took off.
“What started as a simple homage to the soft-serve of Sarah O’Brien’s youth in her native Ohio, grew into a thriving business with a line wrapped around the building on summer nights and weekends,” the Big Softie website states. “With organic dairy and local, quality ingredients, we work to bring you the best soft-serve we can offer. “
Big Softie expanded to an additional location in Poncey-Highland last year.
The brand offers classic menu items like classic vanilla and chocolate, as well as vegan flavors like matcha and vegan oat vanilla. There are additional flavors offered on a rotating basis. Big Softie also features an extensive list of toppings, ranging from sprinkles and chocolate hardshell to unique items like rosemary caramel.
O’Brien also operates three Little Tart locations and has one in the pipeline for this year, as recently reported by What Now Atlanta.
As of now, an exact opening timeline for the forthcoming Big Softie location has not been announced. Stay tuned for updates.
