Dudley’s Sports Grill will open on Henderson Avenue August 28, 2025, featuring rotating grilled specials. The opening comes a year after Dudley’s launched its first location in Rockwall in summer 2024. The location was a success with the bar redefining bar food for local diners in North Texas.

While the Henderson location opens to the public on Thursday, the outlet plans a grand opening celebration on a later date in September, which is expected to be revealed soon.

The chef-led, Western-inspired sports bar will bring bold Texas flavors, wall-to-wall sports, and a full drink menu to one of Dallas’ busiest neighborhoods. Guests can expect a lively mix of boots, brisket, and big-screen sports in true Dallas style.

The venue’s growth is driven by strong Texas ties and many years of experience in hospitality. Founders Jordan Carson, Gabriel Rhodes, and Patrick Gorman named the bar for Carson’s great-grandfather, Floyd Dudley Hitt.

Carson said, “We’re excited to open in a part of town that we know and love.” He added, “Stop by after shopping for a drink, catch your favorite game, and grab some Texas-style food that hits the spot.”

Chef-Led Menu Concept

Executive Chef Eric Freidline is leading the kitchen, directing culinary programs, and also serving as the managing partner in the new location. He was recognized as Rising Star Chef of the Year at the Tastemaker Awards in 2019.

Freidline said, “We’re serving food that’s rooted in local flavor.” He highlighted menu standouts like the Old School Wagyu Burger and Smoked Brisket Deviled Eggs.

He also said that it is dishes like 24-hour brined smoked half chicken with roasted poblano polenta and signature chicken fried steak smothered in peppered cream gravy that customers come back for. The menu focuses on comfort dishes finished with a smoky Southern twist.

A wood-fired grill placed at the new outlet enables Freidline to infuse dishes with a rich, smoky flavor that emerges from open-flame cooking.

The Texas-sized charcuterie highlights specialty cured meats supplied by Kuby’s and Jimmy’s Food Store, a nod to beloved Dallas institutions and local flavors. Over weekends, the outlet will serve brunch between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Venue Design Layout

Dudley’s is built for devoted sports viewers and Dallas food fans, offering an immersive place to watch games. The 6,000-square-foot space features multiple LED video walls and 41 flat-panel televisions.

A continuous sports ticker wraps the front bar, streaming live score updates. Whether it’s Sunday NFL, international soccer, playoff baseball, or late-night UFC, Dudley’s makes sure fans don’t miss a game.

The vibe pairs a rustic Texas character with the high energy of a big-game watch party. The space includes cowhide booths, a penny-inlaid bar top, polished concrete floors, and a turfed patio.

Dramatic animal mounts, including a massive black bear, add to the Western swagger, while a commissioned mural by Dallas artist Jonathan Freeman pulls the look together. A bar and lounge in the back offers flexibility, doubling as a private-event space.

In addition to being a sports destination, Dudley’s is also a social hub featuring live music, trivia, poker nights, and music bingo.

Located at 2927 N. Henderson Avenue, Dudley’s Sports Bar is just one block from the intersection of Henderson and Central Expressway. Open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.
