The Chicago-based BBQ restaurant has been seeking a new Glenview location. As of now, an opening date or establishment of the business is still up in the air.
The Village of Glenview Trustees had considered giving a $750,000 loan for a new restaurant at 1131 Waukegan Road in December 2024. As of now, the project is delayed but still planned. The village is stating construction will begin next year.
What Now Chicago previously reported on Smoque BBQ opening a steakhouse at 3800 N Pulaski Road in Avondale. Their original Irving Park location had been around since 2006. This would be the third expansion from the company.
Served at other Smoque BBQ locations is of course the Texas-style brisket, with pulled pork, St. Louis ribs and baby back ribs, along with dessert options. It was reported there would also be a bar in the space.
The lease for Auto Service With Steve Inc. is expected to expire sometime this year. The new restaurant would be going in at the corner of Waukegan Road and Grove Street, just north of Heinen’s Grocery Store.
Barry Sorkin, one of the owners of Smoque BBQ, did not want to provide comments on the project at this time. An official statement on the opening of the Glenview restaurant should be coming out in about a month.
