It’s been a minute since Harold and Kumar got a craving for White Castle and re-ignited a national fascination with the restaurant and its tiny but delicious burgers. Now 21 years later, the chain is preparing to make a little Texas history. White Castle has announced plans to open its first Lone Star State location and it will be in the DFW, reports Community Impact.
White Castle will be joining the Grandscape entertainment complex. While a precise physical address is not yet available, the restaurant will be located by the intersection of Destination Drive and Grandscape Boulevard. The fast-casual favorite will be a boon to the local economy in several ways; besides creating more commerce, it is anticipated that White Castle will employ between 80 and 100 local workers.
The Colony fans have another year between them and their first bite of White Castle; the restaurant anticipates a summer of 2026 debut.
White Castle has been serving customers its signature sliders for over 100 years, so its arrival in a new market is an event of note. CEO Lisa Ingram acknowledged the import of the moment, saying “Today, we are reaching a new milestone as we prepare to bring that Crave to Texas for the very first time. We couldn’t imagine a more fitting location than Grandscape in The Colony for our debut in the Lone Star State, and we can’t wait to welcome new Cravers into the White Castle family.”
