H&H Bagels, an iconic New York City bagel brand, is coming to Palm Desert. According to the Desert Sun, the company will be opening a new location at 73131 Country Club Drive, its first in the Coachella Valley region.

Known for using kettle-boiled dough made with unbromated, unbleached flour and all-natural, non-GMO ingredients, the popular chain has been aggressively expanding lately. Earlier this year, The Business Journals reported that the franchise had 70 new units in the pipeline and was entering the California market.

“We could not be more excited to bring our New York City bagels to another community in California, building on the incredibly warm reception we received in Santa Monica,” said CEO Jay Rushin.

In Palm Desert, the new 1,500-square-foot space will be adjacent to Sherman’s Deli. It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., co-franchisee John Santos tells What Now OC. He will run the store with his wife, Ali, and father-in-law, Brian Murphy. They estimate opening by the end of the year.

The family is well-versed in franchising, already owning multiple Jimmy John’s locations in the area and a Nothing Bundt Cake store. It’s also important to them to give back to the community through leadership programs and service, working with various local groups and supporting nonprofits such as Ronald McDonald House, Safe House of the Desert, Martha’s Village & Kitchen, and more.
