Golf fans will have a new spot to tee off in a virtual setting at Bunker Golf, heading this fall to 15 Baker Road in Newnan.
The approximately 1,700-square-foot spot will offer two simulator bays equipped with the latest Trackman technology, which includes top-of-the-line tracking and data analysis on the virtual range.
Customers will be able to rent bays by the hour, owner Timothy Sullivan told What Now Atlanta. There, they will have options to practice on the virtual driving range or to play full 18-hole courses.
The Bunker Golf space will offer a vintage country club-style atmosphere.
“I want to create a country club kind of vibe but with the new technology simulator element, with the way things are going now,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan said eventually they plan to expand to three bays. Also, they might add a food and beverage component down the line, but for now they welcome customers to bring their own food to enjoy.
The team plans to open by early October. Sullivan is looking forward to bringing people together through the concept, such as through event nights intended to encourage the local golf community to bond.
“My wife is actually from the community and I’m from Birmingham, Ala., so I’m looking forward to meeting people from the community who love golf,” Sullivan said. “We’re hoping to start up league nights once we open to get some people together who just enjoy playing golf and want that small community fellowship.”
Sullivan hopes to expand to more locations in the coming years, with an emphasis on thoroughly embedding Bunker Golf in each community, as they are aiming to do with this first location.
“[Customers] will see subtle aspects around the space that pay homage to the city we’re in,” Sullivan said. “So once we get big enough to expand to other locations, we would like to add that to those locations so they become a part of the community.”
