New Bar Heading To Hell’s Kitchen, Community Board Filings Indicate

Pride Bar & Lounge has filed paperwork with the community board for a space at 742 Ninth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. The spot was formerly home to gay sports bar Boxers.

The location will feature a first and second floor as well as a rooftop element. The first floor will have 17 tables that will seat 66 as well as one bar that will seat 14; the second floor will have 23 tables that will seat 76 and one bar that will seat 10; and the rooftop will have 15 tables that will seat 44 and one bar with eight seats.

The proposed menu includes a variety of appetizers, including fried pickles, chili, breaded jalapeños, soft pretzels, nachos, quesadillas, sliders and flatbreads. Other menu items include wings, sandwiches, burgers, salads, chicken tenders and entrees like penne alla vodka, chicken parmesan, chicken pot pie and fish and chips.

Restaurateurs Paul Fogarty and Andy Karlic are behind the location, according to filed paperwork. Karlic is behind other spots in the city, including District Tap House and District Local.

The proposed hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. daily.

As of now, there is no word on the opening timeline.
