A popular coffee shop and market, recently celebrating eight years of “bean-ing” in business, is preparing to expand.
Herman’s Coffee and Market will open a new location this fall at Ridge Hall in Ambler, according to the food hall’s website. Ridge Hall will also soon welcome The Pierogie Kitchen and Char, a seafood concept, with additional vendors expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Herman’s draws its inspiration from owner Mat Falco’s grandfather, Herman.
“Herman’s is a tribute to him and his appreciation for the simple joys in life. Each day was started, sitting in one of his old lawn chairs in the garage with the door open, sipping his morning coffee. Whether it was in the garage or at the neighborhood diner, no matter what time of day, coffee always brought a smile to his face, and we strive to hopefully bring that same smile to our community,” the shop’s website reads.
The coffee shop offers drip coffee, pour-overs, frozen coffee and classic espresso drinks, including americanos, macchiatos, cappuccinos and signature lattes flavored with vanilla, caramel, mocha, pistachio rose and seasonal cookie butter.
They serve coffee cocktails, including the Espresso Tonic, made with espresso and Fever-Tree tonic, which can be enhanced with grapefruit sage, and the Pennsport Mule, featuring espresso, honey and Fever-Tree ginger beer. The menu also includes spritzes, such as the Lemon Lavender Spritz, made with sparkling water, lemonade and lavender bitters, and the Tiki Spritz, combining sparkling water, fresh-squeezed blood orange juice and tropical bitters.
Herman’s features a market with a curated selection of gourmet products. The shop carries more than 100 varieties of chocolate bars from around the world and 200 types of conservas, or tins of fish, from the U.S. and Europe, including grilled sardines and smoked salmon.
Italian imports include premium pastas from Faella, Martelli and Gentile, along with fine tomatoes from Gustarosso, Maida and Valgri. The market also offers a wide assortment of cocktail and mocktail supplies, including bitters, syrups and mixers, as well as a selection of nonalcoholic wines and spirits.
While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, Ridge Hall is targeting mid-October for all new tenants.
What Now Philadelphia reached out to the Herman’s Coffee and Market team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
