Publix has been announced as the anchor tenant for a forthcoming redevelopment project in the Decatur region. Spearheaded by Venture South Investments, the redevelopment — dubbed Candler Crossing — will take shape at 816 Candler Road and will include a 50,325-square-foot Publix store, according to Decaturish.
Located at the intersection of Candler Road and Glenwood Road, the development is also expected to have more than 11,200 square feet of additional retail space, including space for inline retail shops and restaurants with patios, according to the Venture South Investments website. Candler Crossing will also incorporate green spaces, a walking trail and 267 parking spaces. A marketing flyer currently listed on the website indicates that there are five tenant spaces available for lease.
Construction is still to come on the space, with plans to begin next year and finish in 2027. Tenants are expected to begin to occupy the space in fall 2027, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Publix has thousands of stores across the U.S., many of which anchor shopping centers such as these.
Venture South Investments is also actively developing sites in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as a shopping center in Locust Grove. It has multiple shopping centers it has completed across Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana.
