FoxFire Steakhouse Owner Bringing New Concept to Downtown Geneva

Downtown Geneva is continuing to grow with a new healthy restaurant coming soon.

News of a restaurant called 9 Vixens recently broke on social media, and it is being built at 101 W State Street in Geneva. It is being opened by K.C. Gulbro, owner and chef of the FoxFire steakhouse at 101 W State Street. Gulbro told What Now Chicago he is looking at opening in February next year.

This is a unique concept as it is being called an “allergy free restaurant.” This includes the big nine allergies, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, crustacean shellfish and sesame. It will serve comfort food, along with small bites that have not been announced.

Gulbro has been planning 9 Vixen for about nine months, fittingly. He has been at FoxFire for 21 years, a steakhouse and fresh seafood spot that has become a staple of the downtown area. He has been the owner since 2016, and he wanted to introduce a new restaurant to the area with an accessible menu that caters to different palettes.

Inside, the restaurant will also have a 34-seat bar. In the recent social media post, it shows that massive interior work is being done including tearing out the walls and the floor. Construction is expected to take the rest of the year.

Vixen 9 is going in at the corner of W State and N 1st streets in downtown Geneva. This is right next to Cravings Asian Fusion, and across the street from Tia Carmen Restaurant. For more information on the concept, visit their Facebook page.
