Back in March, What Now reported on the Great Greek Grill’s plans to open a new location in Summerlin, at 2375 S Town Center Drive. The Summerlin opening would be a big step for the brand, founder Nick Della Penna told What Now at the time.
“It’s got one of the largest dining rooms within the city; about 60 people can sit in the dining room. We just felt like there’s going to be more dine-in business in the Summerlin market. And that will allow for different seating options, bigger booths, things you don’t normally find.”
Now, Della Penna says the Summerlin location—the brand’s ninth in Vegas—is planning on a soft opening on September 22.
And what’s next for the Great Greek in Las Vegas? No less a destination than T-Mobile Arena, where the Great Greek Grill will be opening a stand.
“You don’t see a lot of gyros in arenas, but we always thought the Great Greek would be great arena food—as did T-Mobile and everyone,” Della Penna told What Now on Thursday. “We thought it would be a great branding opportunity, a great venue to be in. Their lineup of restaurants is really impressive.”
Della Penna says the Great Greek at T-Mobile Arena will feature an abbreviated menu—but there will be one or two specialty items made just for T-Mobile, items you can’t get anywhere else.
“Hopefully this will be the first of many arenas around the country.”
