The town on the border of Indiana will soon be getting a large restaurant and venue spot.

Cork + Oak Whisky Wine & Tapas is the newest concept coming to Lansing at 18155 Roy Street. This will be a restaurant and bar with the addition of live music and karaoke. Right now, the owner who wished to remain unnamed is planning for an opening on Oct. 31.

The Lansing Journal first reported in February that there was an entertainment permit granted by the city for a new tapas bar. The space was formerly occupied by Pour On Roy wine bar, which closed in November 2024. Now, work is being done on the inside and the owner told What Now Chicago “there is light at the end of the tunnel.”

It is being described as “A new restaurant and speakeasy experience,” according to their Instagram page. Inside, there will be lounge seating along with the bar. From the Lansing Journal article, is is reported the inside will be an “upscale environment.”

The business has hired a chef consulting company to help with the menu. While the menu hasn’t been released, Spanish cuisine like the tapas can be expected. Whiskey and other alcoholic beverages will be sold along with the wines.

Cork + Oak is in the same building as Mancino’s Pizza & Grinders, and next to Gayety’s Chocolates & Ice Cream. This is at the corner of Roy Street and Ridge Road.
