Ramen del Barrio is moving its North Austin location to a new home. According to a permit recently filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, the new Ramen del Barrio will live at 2007 Kramer Lane, Unit 105.

Owner and Chef, Christopher Krinsky, confirmed with What Now Austin via email that the ramen spot is opening the Kramer Lane location in the next few months.

“We are unable to issue a specific opening date at this time, but we aim for December/January,” Krinsky shared via email.

The North Austin location was once home to Gimmicks Bar, which, according to Community Impact, closed its doors in July. The Chicago-inspired bar had opened its doors just a year ago on June 20, 2024.

Ramen del Barrio opened its first location within the Hana World Market’s food court in the Scofield Farms neighborhood at 1700 Parmer Lane, Suite 100, in February of 2023. Krinsky started Ramen del Barrio as a garage pop-up before securing investment and opening its brick-and-mortar location in North Austin. When the new location on Kramer Lane opens, this location will close.

The concept quickly gained traction for its unique offerings. Mexican Ramen is the one-of-a-kind driving force behind the whole operation. According to its website, Ramen del Barrio combines Japanese and Mexican techniques and flavors “to bring something new and exciting” to Austin diners. Specializing in rich and thick tonkotsu broth paired with slow-cooked carnitas, the eatery gives the ramen experience a Mexican twist. Besides the variety of ramen that the North Austin restaurant is known for offering, Ramen del Barrio also serves a multitude of mariscos, salsas, and yaki-tacos.

You can expect to see Ramen del Barrio pumping out more of its beloved ramen at its new location in North Austin, 2007 Kramer Lane, Unit 105, before February 2026.
