Bar Rescue star Jon Taffer is teaming up with Craveworthy Brands to expand Taffer’s Tavern, with plans to enter the Philadelphia market.

“Jon called me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to partner and help him grow his brand. I started digging in and looking at it. It’s an incredible concept; he’s an incredible human being,” Gregg Majewski, CEO of Craveworthy Brands, told What Now Philadelphia.

Taffer’s Tavern, created in 2018, invites guests to share stories and make new memories with friends and family while enjoying craft cocktails and elevated tavern fare, including handhelds, burgers, salads and dessert.

“Jon’s drinks are out of this world and the new menu we created for this brand lives up to complementing the drinks. There’s the s’mores cocktail, which we actually fire roast a s’more marshmallow on top of your drink. The two old fashions, they’re two of the best I’ve ever had. The presentation of these drinks is just next level,” Majewski said.

Majewski said each location spans between 2,500 and 4,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 200 guests. While each tavern will share core design elements, it will also reflect the character of its city.

“The store itself, the design, will always have the same feel. What we do is take the buildings we go into and build to that DNA,” he said. “For example, if the Philadelphia tavern has the look and feel of an older, historic building with the city’s traditional character, we’re going to preserve that.”

Majewski and his team are still searching for a franchisee in Philadelphia to operate Taffer’s Tavern.

“We’re looking for people that have the ability to want to grow—someone that’s been a GM [general manager], someone in the hotel industry, restaurant space or fine dining,” he said.

Philadelphia isn’t the only city on the tavern’s radar. Austin, Baltimore, Dallas–Fort Worth, New York City and Portland are also in talks to open locations, a press release reads.

According to IBISWorld, the U.S. bar and tavern industry surpassed $39 billion in 2025 and continues to grow as consumers seek experience-driven dining concepts combining social connection with quality food and drink, a space where Taffer’s Tavern continues to stand out.
