Hometown Coffee & Juice, the North Shore all-day café and gathering space known for its fresh, flavorful menu and welcoming community atmosphere, is expanding once again with the opening of its newest location in downtown Glenview at 1127 Depot Street. The Glenview location opened the first week of November, marking Hometown’s fourth location and expanding its signature neighborhood warmth and energy to Glenview’s vibrant downtown district.
Founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife team Lou and Julie Rubin, Hometown Coffee & Juice is a family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the North Shore community. With thriving all-day cafés in Glencoe, Winnetka, and Lake Forest — and Uptown, a private event space located above Hometown’s Glencoe location — the Rubins have cultivated a brand that celebrates connection above all else.

Debuting on-site at Hometown Glenview is the family brand’s second Uptown location: Uptown Glenview is an elevated private event space that feels as inviting as a beautifully designed living room. To support its continued growth and culinary innovation, Hometown Coffee & Juice recently welcomed Chef Daniel Huebschmann as Director of Culinary Operations. Huebschmann brings more than 14 years of experience with Gibsons Restaurant Group, where he served as Corporate Executive Chef and Managing Partner. His background includes leadership in menu development, business management, purchasing, and operational excellence.
A strong proponent of high-quality ingredients and culinary creativity, Huebschmann has played a key role in raising standards across major restaurant portfolios. He is also an Aussie Beef Mate, recognized for promoting Australian Wagyu, Grassfed, and Grain-Fed beef within U.S. restaurant operations—values that align with Hometown’s commitment to quality, consistency, and hospitality.
Huebschmann’s expertise will further elevate Hometown’s culinary program, supporting its mission to deliver a consistently superior guest experience across all current and future locations.
