The Little Horse Tavern will open this fall at the Cobbs Creek Golf & Educational Campus through a partnership with Strother Enterprises and Fitler Club.

The tavern pays tribute to Charlie Sifford, whose PGA nickname was “Little Horse,” and aims to carry his legacy forward. His spirit of resilience, inclusivity and community will shape the space, according to a press release.

The president of the Cobbs Creek Foundation welcomes the partnership.

“We believe the combined talents of Fitler Club and Strother Enterprises will offer an experience and venue that people in the community will be excited about and will want to come back to time and again. Both partners share our commitment to creating a destination that is welcoming for all guests, providing golfers and nongolfers a world-class experience in an open, inclusive environment,” Jeff Shanahan said in a statement.

Little Horse Tavern, located inside the Lincoln Financial Center, will serve golf-course staples like the “Cobbs” salad, wood-fired pizzas and shareable plates.

The center will also feature a double-decker golf practice and entertainment facility, an indoor bar and outdoor lounge, event space and a retail shop, all slated to open in fall 2025.

Beyond the tavern, Strother Enterprises and the Fitler Club will handle catering for the new event space, oversee refreshments at the TGR Design short course and operate full-service concessions on the 18-hole championship Olde Course, which is set to open in 2027.

The chief strategy officer for Strother Enterprises is eager to take part and help strengthen community initiatives.

“We’re excited about this partnership with Fitler Club and Cobbs Creek Foundation to make a lasting impact in our hometown by providing inspired food service, creating jobs and continuing our work to champion diversity and increase opportunities for residents of our city,” Natasha Strother Lassiter said in a statement.

The Fitler Club president echoed the enthusiasm, calling it an honor to join forces with Strother Enterprises.

“We see this partnership as an extension of our community-minded mission, and we’re excited to engage the local community and the city at large in supporting this world-class project,” Jacob Smith said in a statement.

Little Horse Tavern has not yet announced an opening date. For updates, visit the tavern’s website and follow along on Instagram.
