Oregon Brewing Company has filed for bankruptcy after its number of creditors grew past 100. The Portland-based brewery plans to sell its assets under Chapter 7 to repay its unsecured creditors.
Oregon Brewing Company Enters Chapter 7
An official filing states that Oregon Brewing Company voluntarily submitted a Chapter 7 filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon. The Multnomah County-based company from Portland approached the court on November 24.
The filing confirms that Oregon Brewing Company is registered as a corporation. Additionally, this is the first time in eight years that the brewing company has applied for bankruptcy.
A separate case involving the brewery’s business partner or affiliate is also pending in the bankruptcy court.
The brewery filed in the Oregon Bankruptcy Court because its main office is located in Portland.

Oregon Brewing Company’s president, Steven Garrett, is the authorized representative of the brewing company in the latest case.
Oregon Brewing Company currently owes between 100 and 199 unsecured creditors. The official filing states that funds will be available for distribution to the creditors during the Chapter 7 proceedings.
