Lansing’s “neighborhood kitchen” looks to be returning with new additions.
Fidler’s on the Grand is coming back to 4805 N Grand River Avenue following a three-year hiatus. From a recent social media announcement, staff are finishing up work on the kitchen. Owner Jacob Taylor told What Now Detroit they are looking to open at the beginning of January.
The restaurant has been owned by Mark Taylor since 2018, and it has always been a family diner. Following a car accident that left several family members injured, they had to take a break from running operations. Now, his son Jacob has been handed the keys and is getting ready to open the doors back up.
Fidler’s on the Grand was known for serving sandwiches, wraps and burgers. One of the main burgers they became known for was the peanut butter burger, and their Jamestown Biscuits and Gravy proved to be a hit.
For the new menu, Jacob said smash burgers will be the main new addition. In early January, a soft open will happen, then during the full opening an expanded menu is set to debut.
Since 2018, the restaurant has been at the corner of N Grand River Avenue and Young Avenue. Capital Region International Airport is just north of the restaurant. Along N Grand River Avenue, Airport Tavern is just a few blocks down.
