A new restaurant with an upscale vibe and music is arriving in Monroe in 2026.
54 South Restaurant and Lounge is coming to 54 S Monroe Street, per recent reports. It is being opened by local chefs Sarah Logan and her partner Jason. Work is being put into the building right now, and a late 2026 opening is anticipated.
“We are looking forward to welcoming a new elegant speakeasy vibe to historic downtown Monroe, Michigan,” says their recent social media post. The space will also have wine and bourbon tastings, events and music entertainment.
Logan is an experienced cook who owns Mac & Loaf’s Grill, which has been serving the Monroe area. The new menu has not been released yet, but some of Logan’s signature dishes including mac-n-cheese bites and prohibition sliders with gruyere cheese and bacon can be expected.
Their restaurant will be at the corner of S Monroe and W 1st streets, close to The Michigan Museum of Horror. Other restaurants nearby include Amaya’s Fresh Mexican Grill and Nocturnal coffee shop. Monroe is about 40 minutes outside Detroit.
