The Perch is an exciting new dining experience that is set to open on the rooftop of JW Marriott Downtown Houston early next year. The Houston Press reports that the new elevated eatery to hit the downtown area in 2026 will open at 806 Main with executive chef Rafel Gonzales leading the charge in the kitchen.
What Now Houston reached out to Gonzalez and JW Marriott Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, Laura Velasco, for comment on the new opening, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
The opening of The Perch is part of an expansion that extends Houston JW Marriott’s footprint into the Battlestein’s Building just next door. The Perch will sit next to the hotel’s rooftop pool overlooking Downtown Houston.
While the details about the menu are still unknown, the JW Marriott is known for providing high-quality fine dining experiences and a world-class culinary journey to guests and community members.
Chef Gonzalez is known for his time at the Italian Four Seasons Hotel Houston restaurant, Quattro, and brings a host of flair and experience.
The JW Marriott Houston Downtown Hotel opened at 806 Main back in 2014. The hotel replaced the Samuel F. Carter Building, helping to preserve what is considered the city’s first skyscraper and make it readily available upon opening.
Dining options and experiences at the JW Marriott currently include Main Kitchen and 806 Lounge. Both dining and hanging destinations have been recognized for outstanding cuisine and exceptional service.
“We’re proud to have received several awards, including the OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award & Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Come experience the culinary excellence & ambiance of Main Kitchen & 806 Lounge for happy hour, dinner, or brunch & discover why we’ve been recognized as one of the best restaurants in Houston,” the website reads.
The Perch will surely possess the same allure when it opens at the JW Marriott Hotel Downtown Houston at 806 Main Street early next year.
