Pizza fans in Costa Mesa will be doing a double-take soon, when an old classic that closed up returns to the same address it operated in for many years. The Pizza Press is planning a comeback at 901 South Coast Dr. #C120 in the Metro Pointe plaza, according to Strategic Retail Advisors.
Its original opening in Costa Mesa was in 2016, when the OC Register reported the business was taking over the former Finbar’s Italian Kitchen space. Several years later, the site was rebranded as Pizzeria Kitchen, operating under that name for a period before eventually closing. Now, it’ll revert back to Pizza Press.
Founder Dara Maleki will operate this location. His company, RMS Franchise Group, also manages the Orange and Anaheim pizza shops. Others around OC, like Irvine, Hollywood, Santa Ana (and as far as Florida and Hawaii) are franchisee-owned.
“Dara Maleki grew up surrounded by entrepreneurship, learning the value of hard work and customer service at a young age. His career spans retail, logistics, and international trade. His experience in both customer-facing and operational roles equipped him with the insight and skills needed to build a successful brand,” shared Carlos Muñoz, Marketing Coordinator for Pizza Press.
The brand, which started in 2012 in Anaheim, is known for its “build-your-own” 10-inch pizzas, served in under four minutes. Its Costa Mesa location will operate daily from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM, its website advertises.
