The DMV dining scene is one of the richest and most diverse in the country. While diners certainly have access to larger national chains, it is the local ones that tend to offer the greatest reward. Taco Zocalo beautifully illustrates just why that is; the regional concept has charmed area foodies with its fresh, authentic fare. Diners can’t get enough of its cuisine and in response, the restaurant has signed on to open a new Chantilly location, reports local media outlet The Burn.
Taco Zocalo is setting up its next home in the Sully Plaza shopping center at 13900 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway Service Road. The taqueria’s newest and fifth location will span 1,600 square feet. The Sully Plaza shop will not be Taco Zocalo’s first Chantilly location; the restaurant already has one home at 14506-D Lee Road.
An opening timeline is not presently available; What Now DC has reached out to ownership and will update readers as details become available.
Taco Zocalo began life as a food truck founded by celebrated chef Basir Ahadi in 2012. What entered the DMV as a concept called “Chefs on Wheels” has evolved into the beloved Mexican concept locals know and adore today, fueled by “Authentic Mexican cuisine made with love and tradition.”
