The northwest township is getting a new original cafe in time for the New Year.
A spot for coffee and matcha called Toasty Treats Cafe is reopening at 6335 Haggerty Road in West Bloomfield Township. This follows a change in ownership. Zakaria Uddin, one of the owners, told What Now Detroit the team is hoping to open around Jan. 1-2.
The opening of the cafe follows three months of planning from the team. Previously, the location served coffees and pastries, and now the shop will serve coffee, ice cream, fresh pastries, sandwiches and crepes. Matcha lemonade is also expected to be a signature drink.
From their social media, they are now hiring for baristas and are putting the finishing touches on the inside. The initial announcement that the cafe was coming soon was on Dec. 9., describing it as a place for “cozy vibes, warm sips and delicious treats.
The location is already listed online, and it was previously open last year. The cafe is on the east side of Haggerty Road, in the Bloomfield Village shopping center next to Library Sports Pub & Grill. Also in the plaza are Alchile Mexican Grill and Sinbad Fruit Market.
