Smoke Ring, LLC, the parent company of Ohio-based BBQ chain Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, has filed for bankruptcy. The petition was filed under Chapter 11, which means that the company seeks to resolve this issue while operations continue. The process allows Smoke Ring to reorganize its finances and address outstanding debts.

On December 19, 2025, Smoke Ring, LLC, filed for bankruptcy. According to PACER, the company filed the petition under Chapter 11, Subchapter V in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

By filing under Subchapter V, Smoke Ring qualifies as a small business debtor, a designation that offers a faster and more cost-effective restructuring process. Attorney Sean Stone is representing the company in the bankruptcy proceedings.

Founded in 2009 by Chef James Anderson, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit is a group of several BBQ food trucks, trailers, and drive-thrus operating in Ohio. The brand is known for its focus on traditional American barbecue and community-driven dining experiences.

Over the years, the chain has witnessed immense growth in Ohio. That expansion has slowed amid the company’s financial restructuring.
