A plaza near downtown Romeo will soon be home to an anticipated Greek spot.
A new project called Mad Greek is coming to 235 St Clair Street. This is from owner Elias Dotis who has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry in areas including Seattle. Dotis told What Now Detroit he and his team are hoping to open sometime in mid-to-late January.
“We’re excited to join the village and serve up great Greek food. OPA!” Says the recent post on their Facebook page.
Dotis was the owner of a restaurant called Takis Mad Greek in Seattle’s north side. It was a family owned spot, and he also opened Bus Stop Espresso and Gyros in the city. He has lived in Michigan for three years now and has been working on the deal to get the building for a long time. Dotis just received the keys last Wednesday.
For the food, Dotis is taking inspiration from his past restaurants, with dishes like souvlakis and gyros to be served. He has not finalized a menu yet, but other Greek staples can be expected.
The new restaurant joins the plaza with Four Corners’ Diner, a fitting name as the plaza is at the intersection of 32 Mile Road and N Bailey Street. This is right in Romeo’s downtown area, near Original Buscemi’s Pizza.
Prior to the opening, the team will be providing updates on progress on their social media pages.
