The Jonesboro dining scene is getting a little sweeter this year, thanks to an expanding brand with its heart in New Orleans and a pair of busy local franchisees. Husband-and-wife team and business partners Cody McPherson and Kristen McPherson are opening a brand new location of Beignets and Brew in the neighborhood, reports local media outlet K8 News.
The chain is opening its second Arkansas location at 1853 E. Highland alongside a Potbelly’s, also owned and operated by the McPhersons. Locals will be able to enjoy a sweet treat this spring; Beignets and Brew is on deck to open in April or May.
Though Beignets and Brew will be part of a “dual concept” with Potbelly’s, the concepts will exist independently, with separate entrances.
The McPhersons have an impressive portfolio of franchise storefronts, including Crumbl, Potbelly, and Rock N Roll Sushi. The duo explain what made them choose to add Beignets and Brew to their collection, saying: “We loved the brand from the very first time we saw it and tried the hot, fresh beignets. We were hooked from the first bite.”
Launched in Florida in 2023, Beignets and Brew brings the flavors of New Orleans to diners who can’t make the trip to Louisiana. The menu prominently features the titular pastry alongside specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, and other delicious treats.
