Bagel Co. Express is a spin-off concept set to debut in the Greater Houston region this year. According to a recently filed permit, which listed the eatery as “Express Bagel,” Bagel Co. Express is expected to open at the CJF Properties in Galveston at 2724 61st St.
At the helm of the eatery is Galveston Bagel Company co-owner Dillan Mena. Mena opened Galveston Bagel Company with his wife, Shelby, and business partners Heather and Saul Estrada in 2022. According to Mena, the brand is now ready to expand.
“We are opening a smaller version of our bagel shop called Bagel Co. Express, which we are opening multiple off in the greater Houston area,” Mena shared with What Now Houston via text.
Construction on the fast-service bagel eatery is expected to start in February and wrap up by the end of April 2026.
Mena is no stranger to the food industry.
“We own a bagel shop already and a smashburger restaurant here on the island,” Mena said.
The group launched the Galveston Bagel Company by working through delivery and a food truck. Now that the first brick-and-mortar is gaining traction, the brand is expanding.
Though Mena was unable to share further details by the time of this publication, we can expect a similar yet slightly smaller menu than what’s offered at Galveston Bagel Company at Bagel Co. Express.
Galveston Bagel Company menu highlights include the lox bagel, breakfast burrito, pelican on everything bagel, and the double smash burger.
