Miami’s most playfully nostalgic ice cream shop, Cry Baby Creamery, is heading to Kendall. On Monday, January 26, the brand will officially open its newest location in West Kendall (15707 SW 56th Street), marking a major milestone for the brand as it begins a steady expansion. The opening will be followed by a third shop in South Kendall (12700 SW 122nd Ave #119), opening early to mid-February, bringing Cry Baby Creamery’s fan-favorite ice cream flavors, baked goods and inventive seasonal creations to even more dessert lovers and families.
Founded on the idea that ice cream should feel like a joyful return to childhood, Cry Baby Creamery has become one of Miami’s most beloved small-batch scoop shops. Known for its house-made ice creams, gooey baked goods and pop-culture inspired menu mashups, the brand blends classic Americana with Miami whimsy. Every small batch starts with real ingredients, no shortcuts and a nostalgia-first approach designed to put a smile on every guest’s face.
“Opening in Kendall hits a little differently since it’s home for me,” says Stephanie Diaz, owner of Cry Baby Creamery in a statement. “We can’t wait to be part of the neighborhood and share all the things that make Cry Baby special with the community I grew up in.”
The new Kendall shops will pack all the Cry Baby Creamery hits under one roof: signature scoops, seasonal specials, cookies, brownies, milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches.
Signature ice creams include favorites such as Viva Pastelito with cream cheese & mascarpone ice cream mixed with guava swirls & caramelized puff pastry; Bean to Cone with Ecuadorian milk chocolate ice cream with dark chocolate flakes; Espumita Boss with Per’la Coffee cold brew ice cream; and Party Animal with green vanilla ice cream with swirls of homemade vanilla frosting, dye-free rainbow sprinkles & homemade frosted animal crackers.
Winter ice cream flavors, available through February, include highlights such as Flan Brulee with flan ice cream with caramelized sugar; Cookies & Caramel with cookie butter ice cream with swirls of vanilla caramel & Biscoff cookie crumbs; and Ooey Gooey with cream cheese ice cream with swirls of homemade mixed berry jam & chunks of ooey-gooey cake.
In February, Cry Baby Creamery will also kick off its 3-month Chef Series, highlighting ice cream flavors dreamed up by some of Miami’s favorite chefs for limited-times. The series will kick off with Giorgio Rapicavoli, followed by Eileen Andrade and closing out with Niven Patel. The specialty lineup of flavors will be available at all locations, including the two new scoop shops.
Guests can expect the same vibrant, cocktail bar meets tattoo parlor aesthetic the brand is known for, with playful décor, a dark color palette accented by pops of red and blue, and the signature “cry baby” logo. The shops will feature red leather banquettes and booths, with seating for 20.
Cry Baby Creamery’s West Kendall shop will open on January 26 at 15707 SW 56th Street, followed by South Kendall in February at 12700 SW 122nd Ave #119. The shops will be open Sunday through Thursday from 12pm to 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 11pm. The new locations continue the brand’s mission of becoming a community hub where ice cream lovers of all ages gather for treats, celebrations and sweet moments. www.crybabycreamery.
