BRG Hospitality Group is opening a new French restaurant Feliciana Bistrôt in downtown Covington, according to a liquor license filing.

The restaurant will open in a new building on 405 E Gibson St., part of a larger effort to revitalize the city by 2030.

BRG Hospitality is a prominent restaurant group in New Orleans co-founded by Octavio Mantilla and Chef Josh Besh, operating restaurants like Luke, Willa Jean and Domenica. Its restaurants have received its share of accolades. Shaya received a James Beard award in 2016 for Best New Restaurant and its executive chef Zachary Engel won a James Beard award in 2017 for Rising Star Chef of the Year. More recently, its restaurant August was recognized by the Michelin Guide in 2025 in its inaugural New Orleans review.

BRG Hospitality’s Mediterranean restaurant Tavi is located right next to the upcoming Feliciana. Additionally, an upscale rooftop wine bar, Paradise Cocktail Lounge, will occupy Feliciana’s rooftop space, also operated by BRG Hospitality. The two concepts are inspired by author Walker Percy, who lived in Covington for much of his adult life. The kitchen will be helmed by Patrick Teagle, a long-time chef with BRG, previously working as a sous chef at August and executive sous chef at Domenica.

Feliciana and Paradise are set to open in February.
