Baltimore-based Atlas Restaurant Group is expanding its Philadelphia presence with the addition of The Ruxton.
The acclaimed steakhouse is set to open inside The Rittenhouse Hotel at 210 W. Rittenhouse Square in spring 2027, according to the website.
The new space will seat up to 200 guests and feature three private dining rooms, two bars and a seasonal outdoor patio overlooking Rittenhouse Square.
Patrick Sutton will design the interior to evoke the Jazz Age, featuring velvet upholstery, walnut millwork and custom Murano-style glass chandeliers.
With chef Aaron Taylor at the helm, The Ruxton will serve “meticulously” sourced steaks and seafood, including prime filet mignon, dry-aged sirloin, wagyu and other butcher’s cuts. Seafood options will include oysters, Ruxton ceviche, Alaskan red king crab cocktail, steamed lobster, Jail Island salmon and Maryland crab cakes.
The Ruxton in Philadelphia will be its third location and the group’s second in the city, following Loch Bar. It joins the flagship in Baltimore and a second outpost slated for National Harbor in late 2026.
Atlas Restaurant Group was founded by brothers Alex and Eric Smith in 2010 with a deli in Baltimore’s Harbor East. Since then, it has grown to 50 restaurants, bars and entertainment concepts across Maryland, Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania.
“The Smith brothers understood the value that the hospitality industry can have on cities like Baltimore, by not only offering exciting new dining options that haven’t previously existed, but also providing jobs for the community, and a sense of pride for the locals,” the website reads.
The Ruxton is still in the early stages of development. Visit the website and follow the restaurant on Instagram and Facebook for updates. Stay tuned!
