Real Estate Firm Acquires 266-Unit Apartment Community in Metro Atlanta

The Milestone Group has acquired an apartment community in Cherokee County, expanding its portfolio of high-quality residential assets in metro Atlanta. The 266-unit, garden-style apartment community is located in one of the suburbs of North Atlanta.

Milestone Group Expands Portfolio

The Milestone Group announced the acquisition of the Legends at Laurel Canyon community on January 26, 2026. The location adds to the value of the property, making this deal favorable for Milestone Group.

Founded in 2003, the real estate investment firm specializes in value-add multifamily investments. The firm has invested more than $9 billion across over 90,000 units since its opening. This new acquisition brings value to the company while strengthening its presence in the Atlanta market.

Milestone’s Investment Strategy

According to Jason Wise, Managing Director of Acquisitions at Milestone, the property brings an opportunity to the firm. As a newer, high-quality asset in metro Atlanta, Cherokee County has witnessed growth of more than 12% in recent years.

The county is projected to grow by another 51% by 2050, making this property beneficial to the firm. This growth has added more than 62,000 residents to Cherokee County. Close to 30,000 jobs have also been added over the last decade.

Wise also points out that the property benefits from a strong long-term supply and demand. It was acquired at a significant discount to replacement cost through the assumption of existing financing; however, the purchase price was not disclosed.

Features and Amenities

Legends at Laurel Canyon offers large floor plans to residents, averaging 1,227 square feet. These include one-, two-, and three-bedroom units that feature gourmet island kitchens. The quartz countertops and ceramic-tiled backsplashes, Nest thermostat, and wood-style flooring in these units also add to the elegance of the community.

Within the gated community, residents can enjoy features like an expansive clubhouse, fitness center, resort-style saltwater swimming pool, and more. There are also convenience amenities, including Amazon Hub Lockers, a car care center, bike racks, and a pet park.

Outside the community, residents can get immediate access to a Publix-anchored shopping center. Proximate to more than three million square feet of retail, dining, and lifestyle amenities, it is within a five-minute drive from the community. There is also good connectivity to major employment centers, healthcare facilities, schools, and other resources.

Legends at Laurel Canyon aligns with Milestone’s long-term investment strategy with its strong population, favorable supply-and-demand fundamentals, and other factors. The acquisition will further strengthen the firm’s presence in metro Atlanta. It positions the property to benefit from the growth witnessed in one of Atlanta’s most active suburban markets.
