Since she was young, Gabrielle Cataldo has aspired to own a bakery and coffee shop. When the opportunity presented itself in Wartrace, she teamed up with her mother Kristina to make her dream come to life.
Sweet Nook Coffee Shop will open at 20 1/2 Main Street in Wartrace. The duo are currently preparing the space for opening and are aiming to open their doors in February.
Sweet Nook will offer a small, cozy space — about 500-600 square feet — with comfortable seating and a whimsical touch. There will be couches, chairs and high-top tables where customers can gather, with a pink-and-green color scheme and greenery trailing down the walls.
The spot will offer unique flavor combinations in their coffee beverages using homemade, small-batch syrups that use natural ingredients such as fruits and herbs. In addition to classic offerings such as caramel and vanilla, the shop will also offer items such as a lavender honey latte and a blueberry lavender latte. In addition, Gabrielle will serve her homemade, small-batch baked goods, including muffins and cookies.
The Cataldos view Sweet Nook Coffee Shop as a place for the community to gather amid fresh renovation in Wartrace.
“There’s a group of people buying all the buildings on the square in Wartrace and they’re renovating the entire square and bringing it back to its glory,” Kristina told What Now Nashville. “We’re starting to get foot traffic and they’re trying to bring it back to life.”
