“Coming soon, Brandon-Riverview,” says a post published to Instagram by Del Patio Pica Pollo, a new food truck concept preparing to launch soon.
This week, What Now came across plan review paperwork submitted for the new food truck by Del Patio Pica Pollo LLC. Behind it is Jose Reynoso, the culinary force behind El Patio RD Chimi & Fritura.
“At El Patio RD Chimi in Brandon, We serve delicious Dominican food such as Empanadas, Chicharron, Chimis, Salchipapas, Pig Ears, Dominican Sausage and more!” says the El Patio RD Chimi website. “We are located by the gas station Mobil in front of Kings Ave, [a] few minutes from Paul Sanders Park.”
What Now reached out to Reynoso on Friday to ask about plans for the launch of the new food truck. Reynoso was not immediately available for comment.
That leaves much still unknown about the upcoming food truck, but the name says enough: Pica Pollo is Dominican-style fried chicken, often served with plantains—so it sounds like El Patio RD Chimi is getting a chicken spinoff!
