Known for restaurants like Rocca, Streetlight Taco, and Bar Terroir, Tastes Pretty Good Hospitality is preparing to launch two new restaurant concepts at the Rome Collective in North Hyde Park: Kingfish, a seafood restaurant, and Lumbre, a new tapas spot.

“The hospitality team that gave Tampa Rocca, Bar Terroir, and Streetlight Taco just pulled back the curtain on what’s next quietly launching a hiring campaign,” said a post published on Instagram by Tampa Tomorrow. “This group has built a reputation for doing what few in Tampa can crafting food + beverage experiences that feel global in inspiration yet rooted in the city’s evolving story. They’ve never been about hype. They under promise, over deliver, and always find a way to exceed expectations.”

The post continues with a description of Kingfish: “A minimalist sushi + sake bar in North Hyde Park’s Rome Collective, focused on pristine ingredients and clean execution.”

Meanwhile, a description on the Tastes Pretty Good website describes Kingfish as “Another addition to the Rome Collective in North Hyde Park, Kingfish is a quality ingredient-driven full-service sushi bar that takes a minimalist approach to Japanese cuisine, complemented by a curated selection of cocktails and sake.”

It was while we were there, on the website, that we stumbled upon a description of yet another new restaurant planned for the Rome Collective: Lumbre, described as “a tribute to the bold flavors of Spain — wood-fired grilling, traditional paella, and tapas featuring pristine seafood and imported cheeses & hams.”

That’s two exciting new restaurants from this fast-growing Tampa hospitality group!

And what about the Rome Collective? Tampa Tomorrow published another post back in November describing the Rome Collective’s progress (to think that That’s So Tampa once conjectured it might be complete by Q4 2024!).

“Today, we focus on the progress of Rome Collective, a nearly 40,000-square-foot retail development that reminds us of a mini–Armature Works–style buildout,” the post says. “The final building within the four-building layout has begun to rise, and it makes up nearly 50% of Rome Collective’s total square footage. This 15,000+ SF structure is a major piece of the puzzle. Concepts already revealed for Rome Collective include Handel’s Ice Cream, The NOW Massage, Calore Club, Next Health, King Fish, Oro, and Southern Veterinary Partners.”
