From Bakeries to Burgers, New Restaurants Open in Atlanta This January

Atlanta’s food scene is expanding this January with new restaurant openings, from neighborhood bakeries to major brands.

Atlanta’s dining scene started 2026 on a busy note, with several new restaurants opening across the city in January. The latest arrivals range from well-known fast-food chains and casual burger spots to bakeries, ice cream shops, and upscale full-service restaurants.

Atlanta’s Food Scene Grows with New Openings

From a new neighborhood bakery and café to a major brand expanding its footprint, these new openings add fresh options for diners around Atlanta. Below is a roundup of the restaurants that opened their doors last month:

Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A  expanded its presence in Carrollton with a new restaurant that opened January 9. Owned and operated by David Daniels, the restaurant space also features a playground for guests with children.

The new location will serve all the classic items from the menu, including the Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit, Hash Brown Scramble Bowl, and Nuggets & Strips.

Daniel plans to continue giving back to the Carrollton community. He will take part in several of the brand’s community programs and support local initiatives through the new restaurant. Grindhouse Killer Burgers

Atlanta’s Upper Westside welcomed the 6th location of Grindhouse Killer Burgers on January 14. The burger chain was founded in 2009 and began its journey at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. It is known for its proprietary Certified Angus Beef burgers and signature styles.

The 7,000-square-foot, two-story restaurant is owned by partners Alex Brounstein and Johnny Farrow and was designed by Studio SOGO Architecture. It features indoor and covered outdoor seating, plus a rooftop bar and patio suited for sports viewing.

Popular items on the menu include the Turkey Burger, Dixie Burger, Double Patty, and Cowboy Burger.

Apart from Atlanta, Grindhouse Killer Burgers also operates airport locations, a food truck, and catering services. Learn more about the new location and opening here.

Chastain Creamery

Chastain Creamery, a new ice cream and dessert destination, opened its doors in Buckhead on January 19. It serves more than 36 flavors of handcrafted ice cream, including dairy-free and sugar-free options. The shop is focused on creative flavors that go beyond the usual offerings. It also offers a selection of coffee drinks.

Viral flavors on the menu are Salted Caramel Brownie, Cookie Dough, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie.

Rosetta Bakery

A beautiful bakery has recently opened in Atlanta’s High Street. Rosetta Bakery celebrated the opening of its new second location on January 24 with grand events.

The bakery offered samples of sweet treats and drinks from its menu, along with special opening promotions. The menu included artisanal coffee, croissants, focaccia, signature bomboloni, sandwiches, and desserts.

Raising Cane’s

Located at Kennesaw Town Center, Raising Cane’s opened its latest location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 27. The restaurant’s menu focuses on the brand’s signature chicken-finger meals, including the Box Combo, made with chicken marinated for at least 24 hours.

The restaurant features a double-lane drive-thru and a large dining room designed for quick service. With its prime location near Kennesaw State University, the restaurant serves students and local shoppers.

Cuevacía

Cuevacía, a new Oaxacan restaurant from local restaurateur William Pitts, opened at Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta. The restaurant marked Pitts’ second concept at the development, following Saints + Council, and operates under his hospitality group, Spur Hospitality. Cuevacía brought an elevated, heritage-inspired approach to Oaxacan cuisine to Atlanta.

The restaurant’s leadership team included Chef de Cuisine Aaron Paik, Executive Chef Christopher Smith, Director of Operations Omar Garcia, and Beverage Director Eric Bradley.

The menu featured traditional dishes such as tlayudas, banana leaf-wrapped tamales, chochoyotes, and slow-cooked beef. The dessert menu includes regional flavors like corn pudding, caramel flan, and chocolate tres leches cake. Explore the restaurant menu here.

Dos Caminos

On January 27, Dos Caminos opened its Midtown Atlanta location and added a lively new option to the area’s growing dining scene. Dos Caminos is known for its upscale Mexican fare and award-winning margaritas. It offers Cantina Nachos, Sizzling Fajitas, Birria Tacos, and more.
