A buffet chain is switching to a new concept from the same owners.
It was reported by The Daily Herald a new restaurant called Tulsi Indian Cuisine is coming to 601 S Randall Road. The new space will serve dishes from both Northern and Southern India. Silpa Yadla, one of the owners, told What Now Chicago the opening date is looking like sometime in May or June this year.
The Golden Corral on Randall closed in September 2025, and the owners knew it was time for a new concept to take over the space. According to Yadla, they had been planning a replacement for the restaurant six months prior to its closure.
“We decided it has run its course,” Yadla said.
The menu for Tulsi Kitchen will be extensive, with one part featuring Northern Indian dishes like butter chicken, paneer and naan. The Southern Indian portion is set to offer lamb shank and tiffins. Yadla said the team is experimenting with the dishes and will narrow down some options.
Along with the restaurant, the banquet area will have the capacity for around 200 people. The current Golden Corral space has the capacity to accommodate this new addition, but from conceptual pictures the space is getting a complete exterior and interior redesign.
The restaurant is already listed online and will be on the east side of Randall Road, near Dollar Tree, Planet Fitness and Blain’s Farm & Fleet. Most of the restaurants on the road are south near the Meijer and Menards. Downtown Elgin is about a 10 minute drive from the location.
Social media pages For Tulsi Indian Cuisine have not been set up yet, and more information will be released in the coming weeks.
