Deep Purpl and Lizzano Focacceria owner Gabriel Fleury is not finished bringing more dining options to the area.
From Downtown Evanston‘s social media, Lizzano Focacceria is officially coming to the city at the former Happy Lemon storefront, 1607 Chicago Avenue. This is set to be their third location in the Chicago area. Fleury told What Now Chicago the opening date will be sometime in early April.
“Best Italian bites in Chicago, IL,” is the slogan on their website.
Lizanno Focacceria serves both The Loop at 200 Michigan Avenue and in River North at 636 N Wells Street. What Now Chicago previously covered the River North debuting in January 2025. At the time, Deep Purpl, an acai concept, was his only business in the area.
At his locations, Fleury serves paninis, salads, Italian rolls and alcoholic beverages. All of the sandwiches are Italian-themed, and vegetarian options are available as well including the Napoli with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and olive oil.
Fleury said he seeks to expand both Deep Purpl and Lizzano Focacceria in the Chicago area in the next few years. He has seen massive growth with Deep Purpl, expanding the company to western and North Side neighborhoods. He hopes to do the same with Lizzano Focacceria.
The newest Lizzano will be in the heart of downtown Evanston, at the corner of Chicago Avenue and Davis Street. This is not the only concept serving sandwiches in the area as Mensch’s Deli is right across the street. Lizzano will also be close to Tapas Barcelona and Picnic.
Fleury will be providing more information on the new location closer to the opening date.
