Ironside Fish & Oyster, a Little Italy seafood restaurant affiliated with Consortium Holdings, will temporarily close at 1654 India Street in San Diego ahead of a planned reopening.

The restaurant will close after service on February 16, 2026, and is scheduled to reopen on March 10, 2026, according to chef Jason McLeod, who confirmed the timeline to What Now. While it is unclear whether the work qualifies as a remodel or renovation, reports have described the project as a reset. The closure is expected to last approximately one month, with operational and kitchen updates planned.

Ironside is approaching its 12th anniversary in spring 2026 and was the first full-service restaurant McLeod opened with Consortium Holdings. McLeod recently returned to the restaurant after several years away and announced the closure and relaunch in an Instagram post. His return marks a new chapter for the seafood-focused concept, which has been a longstanding presence in Little Italy.

During the closure, the kitchen will undergo a full overhaul, including new equipment and live-fire cooking elements, according to SanDiegoVille. The front-of-house space will also be refreshed. The updates aim to enhance the restaurant’s operations while keeping its core identity intact.

Several existing menu items are expected to remain, including the lobster roll, grilled octopus, and chowder. New offerings will highlight live-fire preparations, whole grilled fish, and smoked fish options.  The restaurant also plans to continue special programming, including guest chef dinners, the return of Shuck-A-Thon for National Oyster Day, and a limited tasting menu concept.
