Changes area coming to a building which housed the cafe and multiple banks.
It is being reported Urbana Cafe is temporarily moving from the Atlas Building to the arts center at 44 E 6th Street downtown. The coffee shop will be open in the arts center for about a year-and-a-half. Owner Daniel Noguera is hoping to open the new cafe around April.
Currently, Urbana is only based in Cincinnati, with six locations in city limits. The concept was opened by Noguera in 2013 at Findlay Market in the Over The Rhine neighborhood as a mobile cart business. The cafe opening at the Contemporary Arts Center will still be their sixth location as it is a temporary replacement.
The locations’ menus are focused primarily on coffee, with both hot and cold brews like espressos, macchiatos and flat whites. At the Atlas Building, the shop has served small bites like croissants, banana bread and breakfast sandwiches. Many of the same menu items can be expected at the arts center.
Urbana Cafe will serve coffees and small bites in the lobby of the arts center, making it a prime location as the museum receives a high amount of foot traffic. Meanwhile at the Atlas Building, a major renovation project will be one to add 67 apartments. It will be open seven days a week.
After renovations happen, Noguera will return to the company’s established home at the Atlas Building. What Now Columbus has reached out to Noguera, and this article may be updated.
